Health Guarantee
All kittens purchased from Cute British shorthair Kittens come with a 1-year health guarantee provided by the breeder.
It is required that within ten days of buying the kitten, you must take them to a licensed veterinarian for an examination. If the vet determines that the kitten is clinically ill or has died from an injury or illness that likely occurred before the sale, you have several options.
You can return the kitten for a full refund, exchange it for another kitten of equal value, or keep the kitten and receive reimbursement for reasonable veterinary fees, up to the purchase price. These options do not apply if the seller has disclosed in writing, at the time of sale, any health problems that the buyer later seeks to return the kitten for.
If within 30 days of purchase, a licensed veterinarian determines that the kitten has a congenital or hereditary defect that negatively affects its health, or if the kitten dies from such a defect, the same options mentioned above apply.
To exercise these options, you must notify the seller within two days of the vet’s certification of the kitten’s illness, providing the vet’s name, address, and phone number. Failure to do so within two business days will result in the forfeiture of your rights. Each state has its own laws regarding the sale of kittens, so it’s important to familiarize yourself with the laws of the state where you purchase your kitten.
While each state has different guidelines for guaranteed health in sold kittens, any breeder advertising through our site is expected to provide health coverage for their kittens for at least 30 days in states without a mandatory health guarantee. If a state law offers a guarantee longer than 30 days, that law takes precedence.
Some breeders may offer extended guarantees on their kittens, but it is not legal for a breeder to offer a health guarantee that is less than what the state requires. Extended genetic health guarantees, if offered, specifically cover diseases or illnesses proven to be of genetic origin through proper veterinary examination and testing. However, normal veterinary costs for general care are not covered.
The breeder must receive proper documentation before providing any compensation. This guarantee does not cover costs related to injuries caused by owner negligence or accidental injury.
